Fire Hazzard Information

Overview

We’re on a secluded island with limited infrastructure, therefore fires are very dangerous year-round.

Pay close attention to the Fire Hazard Risk signs at the Ferry Dock, at the Entrance to Scenic Estates, and other postings. 

Basics – All the time:

• Never throw cigarette butts out of your car window–they cause many fires
• Never have a recreacional fire on the Beach above the High tide line or near driftwood. 
• Don’t leave the area until a fire is Completely Out!

Hazard levels range from Low to Extreme, including a TOTAL BAN.
