Gathering Place10:00 am: Kid's Dance with Cassa Cole–
2026-06-26Join LIH&W and instructor Cassa Cole every Friday for a joyful, one-hour parent-child movement class for ages 0 to Pre-K.
We begin with a cozy floor circle featuring welcome songs and names, then transition into gentle movement, guided dances, and interactive play with props like scarves and rhythm sticks. The class includes both high-energy dancing and quiet sensory moments, with a built-in “soft floor reset” and a designated retreat space for toddlers needing downtime. We close with parachute play and a goodbye song to wrap the session in connection and calm.
This class supports early childhood development through joyful movement, rhythm, and social engagement. Children benefit from gross motor skill development, vestibular stimulation, and emotional regulation through predictable transitions. Parents and caregivers are invited to co-regulate, bond, and move alongside their children, promoting connection and playful embodiment. The rhythmic structure and movement arc of the class also help reduce stress, increase body awareness, and build community among families.
$10 Donation per family goes directly to the Instructor and LIH&W programs.
Pre-Register online to let Cassa know you are interested.

Hatha Yoga -Saturdays 10–11 AMHatha yoga is a physical yoga style that uses breathing techniques (pranayama) and postures (asanas) to balance the mind, body, and spirit. This slower-paced practice holds poses for longer durations than flow styles like Vinyasa, making it suitable for beginners, and focuses on alignment, strength, and flexibility. The term "Hatha" can be translated to "sun" (ha) and "moon" (tha), representing the balance between active and passive energies.

From Wikipeida - Description
Salsa dance steps can be done individually, but salsa is most popularly known as a partner dance where the lead takes the follower through a series of spins and turn patterns to music. Salsa's tempo ranges from about 150 bpm (beats per minute) to around 250 bpm, although most dancing is done to music somewhere between 160 and 220 bpm. The basic salsa dance rhythm consists of taking three steps for every four beats of music. Salsa dancers can also break apart to dance solo, known as "shines".The two main styles of partnered salsa dancing are linear and circular. In linear salsa, dance couples remain in their "slot", with each dancer switching places from one side of the slot to the other, similar to West Coast Swing—New York–style salsa and LA-style salsa are both danced this way. The second style of partnered salsa dancing is circular salsa. Here, dancers circle around each other, reminiscent of East Coast Swing. Both Cuban and Colombian salsa follow this circular pattern.
Incorporating other dance styling techniques into salsa dancing has become very common for both men and women: foot work, arm work, body movement, spins, body isolations, shoulder shimmies, body rolls, hand styling, acrobatics, and even lifts.
