Whatcom County Travel

Whatcom County’s Road Closures & Restrictions website lists active road closures or restrictions travelers should know about during inclement weather. This page also contains the Whatcom County Travel Planner, which details the County’s Snow Priority Routes.  These are the roads that we prioritize during snow events. Our plows will start with Priority 1 roads and move on to Priority 2, 3, and 4 roads as conditions allow. During ongoing snowfall, this may mean we cannot plow roads further down the list until we can maintain our Priority 1 roads. We also cannot respond to public requests to plow specific areas until our priority roads are clear.

Visit our website’s Snow & Ice Management page to learn more about how we plan for snow events and prioritize roads. For information on winter preparedness for your home and vehicle, please visit our partners at Whatcom Ready
