The Lummi Island Community Association (LICA) is seeking qualified persons to serve on our Board of Directors.
This is an active board* so if you are ready to become more involved in your community this is a great way to do it.
Please be ready to commit. For example:
- Participate in all of the board meetings (Usually the 2nd Tuesday)
- Attend the monthly General Membership Meetings in person or via Zoom (Monthly, on the 4th Wednesday, except Aug, Nov, and Dec.)
- Represent us in our booth at the Saturday Market and at other events
- Potentially be a board liaison to, and Assist, any LICA sponsored Public Advisory Committees as required
- Work in our internal committees as needed
- Assist in Planning and carrying out community-wide events, sometimes on a tight schedule (For example, the annual spring Roadside Clean Up, and special events, such as the recent 60th Anniversary Celebration for the Whatcom Chief.)
- Work to produce the Lummi Island Directory every two years (2023 is the next edition)
Also, board members must have good computer skills for Zoom meetings, messages, creating and reviewing documents, and all that planning.
* Participation on the board of directors of a not-for-profit organization is not merely social; we need skills and understanding.
All board members are expected to work and actively support LICA in its mission, goals, and community engagement.
