After 41 years as our editor, from the humble beginnings as the “Lummi Island Newsletter” to simply “The Tome”, Paul Davis is officially retiring on December 1st.
At 96 years young, Paul has served the Island and shaped much of the dialog far longer than any other Islander.
We are now accepting applications for this vital community job as editor of LICA’s Tome. This is an unpaid volunteer position. Application deadline is October 31st.
The editor is an integral part of the LICA team responsible for the overall voice, messaging, and editorial standards of The Tome.
The applicant is expected to work with advertisers, community organizations and Islanders on concurrent projects to support effective Island communication, branding, and content. Production of the Tome involves gathering the articles submitted for publication, listing Calendar events, and providing a formatted .pdf file.
Computer skills including writing, editing, page layout and design, coordinating printing, folding, and mailing are essential duties. Web-based skills for the LICA community website are desirable for the position.
The selected candidate will spend time working with Paul Davis for the transitional process.
