Island Library

We have science related books available for check out here: Citizen Science – Island Library | Whatcom County Library System | BiblioCommons

In preparation for LICA’s Spring Roadside Cleanup event on April 2nd, we have printed out resource packs of instructions for how to download the Clean Swell app and/or paper forms if you’d rather report the info that way.

If the library is closed, pick up a resource pack on the back porch in our standing display.

Lummi Island Heritage Trust

On Saturday, April 2. Join LIHT virtually at 10am for a webinar tutorial on how to use the CleanSwell app to record debris. Email outreach@liht.org to get your zoom link.

Grab a smart phone and trash bag, take a walk on public roadsides, and spend an hour or two collecting and documenting trash and debris you encounter along the way. By documenting what we find, scientists can get a better understanding of the plastic pollution crisis and come up with solutions for a better future.

Check the Heritage Trust website at LIHT.org/citizen-science for more about Citizen Science.
