COVID Vax / Booster

COVID Vax / Booster

Need a COVID vax or booster? You can get either in a mobile vaccination unit (MVU) at two Bellingham locations through Feb. 28:

  • Saturdays through Wednesdays at the Peach Health St. Joseph Medical Center Health Education Center at the dead-end of 3333 Squalicum Parkway.
  • Thursdays-Fridays at Settlemeyer Hall on the Bellingham Technical College campus, 3028 Lindbergh Ave.

If you get either your first or second vaccination, you’ll also receive a $50 gift card.

Both clinics operate from 11am-6pm for ages 5-and-over under the auspices of FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency). The MVUs (buses) stand in the parking lots. If unable to leave your car, you can drive up for service.

They welcome walk-ins. If you prefer a set time, register for an appointment online through links on the Whatcom County Health Department vaccine webpage. Anyone needing help to make an appointment can call (with language assistance available):

  • The local health department, 360-778-6075 (Monday-Friday, 9am-3pm, no voicemail) or
  • The state Department of Health, toll-free 833-VAX- HELP (833-829-43570. Language assistance is available.

WCHD has coordinated this public service with the state’s Department of Health (DOH) and Emergency Management Division.

FEMA Mobile Vaccination Units have traveled across the U.S., setting up temporary community vaccine centers with a capacity of 300-500 vaccinations a day with personnel, equipment and supplies, and financial assistance all free (paid by “100% federal share”, as stated in the county health department news release).
