Orca Preservation – Beach Cleanup

Orca Preservation – Beach Cleanup

Help celebrate Orca Recovery Day by doing your part to save salmon and support orca populations!

Lummi Island Heritage Trust will be hosting beach cleanups on Saturday, October 16 from 10:00am – 12:00 noon.

Preventing marine debris helps salmon populations, which then feed and fuel the orcas that are so iconic to the Pacific Northwest. We need your help to collect, record and dispose of trash and debris that impact local wildlife.

Select which beach you’d like to help with including the Lummi Island Beach Access (across from Beach Store), Sunset Beach & Isle Aire Beach, Franks Beach, or your own personal waterfront.

Bring a bucket or trash bag, wear gloves and a mask, and dress for the weather. Each location will have a team lead to help coordinate and track marine debris using the CleanSwell App.

We ask that you dispose of rubbish or recycle at your home or if you find something too large to put in your own trash contact Mary Ross: 425-941-0087.

Email stewardship@liht.org with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you there!
