Dying Deer Problem

Dying Deer Problem

No matter where the deer is Please report any dead Deer. The Humane Society takes care of any dead animals that are found roadside, in the wild, or on private property.

The Wildlife center has been getting a lot of reports of dead deer out here. They ask that you call them with any dead deer concerns/info as Fish and Wildlife is tracking all of the calls so they can do something and get testing started. They are having a huge problem with AHD in deer.

AHD is transmitted by direct contact between deer, either through bodily fluids or possibly airborne routes. This makes it more likely for the virus to spread in areas with high deer concentrations.

To minimize the spread, feed or water should not be provided in order to avoid concentrating deer. Information on AHD

Please call the Wildlife Center at 360-966-8845.
