Our Lummi Island Community

Photo Submission

Thank you SO much for helping add content to the Community’s website and the Photo / Video Archives.

  • We prefer un-cropped FULL size photos
  • They can be Landscape or Portrait orientation We can handle images with 3000 x 2000 pixels and more with ease as long as the file is smaller than 10mb in size
  • Smaller than 640×480 are not generally usable, so try to shoot photos bigger than this.  Check your camera/phone settings.
    * This size is also too small to use for featured Headers (which should be Landscape and 1920 pixels wide minimum)

Please do not send us photos that other people have taken unless you now own the rights (old family photos, etc). The owner should send them directly so we have a proper record. If that is not possible, we need attribution from you about who actually took the photo and will list it as "Contributed by" at our discretion.

A good description should include what the photo is about, where the photo was taken (and when, if you know), type of plant/animal/etc, and other things of interest to the community about the photo. Anything "warm and fuzzy" seems to be greatly appreciated. If there is any History related to the image, that is great to include.

You can Write as Much as you like, including doing a Copy / Paste from a Text document.

• Any in "Landscape" orientation are also considered for the website banners.
• Submissions may be edited by us to fit.
• Submissions are processed as soon as possible, but there can be delays.
• We try our best to attribute images, videos, and quotes to their creators and original sources. If you see something on the site that is misattributed or has other issues, please contact us.
Upload One (1) file, as we need credit, description, and permission for each - If all the same topic/photographer, you can do up to 5 per submission.
• No larger than 10Mb Images ( .png .gif .jpg .jpeg ) or Short Videos ( .mpg .mov .wmv )

Click or drag files to this area to upload. You can upload up to 5 files.
We generally don't contact you, but sometimes we have a question.
