Baker Preserve, LIHT

Always use any trails, paths, stairs and bridges on the Island with caution, and at your own risk

Since 1998, the Lummi Island Heritage Trust has partnered with our island community to protect forest, farmland, wetlands and undeveloped shorelines on Lummi Island.

  • Baker Preserve is a protected habitat for plants, birds and other wildlife, as well a place for people to experience nature.
  • No dogs are allowed in the Baker Preserve, which is a state-designated “Natural Area Preserve.”
  • No bikes are allowed in the preserve.
  • Camping, fires and smoking are strictly prohibited.
  • The walking / hiking trails are open to the public during daylight hours.
    This is a long trail which takes time to travel, give yourself plenty of time to get down before Dusk.
  • Hike only on designated trails and “leave no trace.”
  • Sign-in at the trailhead kiosk is required to help the Trust manage this special property.

Directions / Details:

Seacrest Drive, about 1/3 mile south of the Sunrise Road intersection, on right side (West).

For the safety of other drivers and pedestrians, if the parking lot at the preserve is full please do not park on the road. Overflow parking is available at the Otto Preserve 0.6 miles away.
