No matter who you are, or where you are on life’s journey, you are welcome here.

The Lummi Island Congregational Church  was established in 1903, and built in 1908. We value and honor our individual spiritual paths, we respect differences in theology, celebrate diversity, and appreciate asking life’s big questions without insisting on easy answers.  The church is affiliated with the United Church of Christ.

Besides regular worship services on Sundays at 10:30 am, we support the overall health of the community through the works of the Parish Health Ministry, parish dinners for the community, our island seniors with weekly luncheons and activities for Elderberries, and Food Bank distributions to those seniors in need.  Our  Easter Egg hunt in the island cemetery and the all-island Rummage Sale are long-standing traditions.

Thanks to the generosity of members and the island community, the construction of The Gathering Place  is underway as an additional facility on our site.  It will meet current building codes and offer the island additional opportunities to connect, celebrate, and serve.  Also, all are welcome to access the church beach.  Please use with care.

April, 1909 …. Three years ago the Congregational missionary (Bellingham) visited Lummi Island once in 3 months, but in June, 1906 the society sent J. D. April, 1909 …. Construction has commenced on church —every dollar of the money needed for construction has been subscribed… citizens of island have by donations and work cleared and leveled the new cemetery which adjoins the church, and it is now ready to be seeded down and platted into lots. (Lots of our relatives and friends residing in there now – 2020 – )

July, 1909 …. The church is nearly ready for paper and paint.

September, 1909 …….dedication on September 9, 1909 of the new church.
