Whatcom READS Presents: Celebrating Salvadoran Art Through Painting
Join us at the Lummi Island Grange Hall for a hands-on learning experience that celebrates El Salvador’s most iconic art, the colorful folk art of Fernando Llort. In this program, WCLS Hispanic Cultural Liaisons, Diana and Amelia, will discuss how Llort's use of vibrant colors and the naïve art style captures the beauty of Salvadoran culture, nature, and everyday life.
Guided by Diana and Amelia, each attendee will paint one small wooden piece in the naïve folk style. All materials are provided. No prior experience is required.
This adult program is suitable for ages 16 and older and will be presented in both English and Spanish.
Location: Lummi Island Grange Hall, 2215 North Nugent Road, Lummi Island
Space is limited; registration is required.
