After a hiatus forced by COVID, the TCC (Traffic Calming Committee) has restarted its organizational process. Those of you who have expressed an interest in serving on the committee will meet very soon to decide the committee’s structure and leadership.
History:
The LICA Board of Directors, by citizen request, formed a Traffic Calming Committee (TCC) to investigate Islanders’ needs for better safety on our roadways and to explore ways to achieve those needs through education, public awareness, signage, or other methods such as possibly creating a reduced speed area. There are many options to research and consider.
The Traffic Calming Committee wants to include citizens from all geographic areas of Lummi Island; all demographic populations (seniors-to-kids); specified user groups (commuters, tourists, pedestrians, bicyclists, etc.), and Island Organizations.
If you are interested in finding out more about the committee and interested in participating on it, please send your Name, Phone Number, Full Address and Demographic, User Group, etc. in an eMail to TCC@LICA.us Please include full contact details.
