Planned Ferry Outage

The Whatcom Chief will be out of service from 9:10 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 20, for maintenance and to repair the apron control box on the Gooseberry Point ferry terminal facility. Note this outage occurs one hour earlier than our regular outage timeframe; please plan accordingly.

• The last morning run from the Gooseberry Point side will be 8:30 a.m., and the last morning run from the Lummi Island side will be 9:00 a.m.
• To fully complete the maintenance and repair, no additional runs will be made after the 9:00 a.m. run from Lummi Island.
• Due to the complex nature of this repair, the dock will be pinned, and no ferry runs can be made during the repair. This includes emergency vehicles.
• This maintenance and repair are weather-dependent, and the times and/or date may change if necessary. If schedule changes occur, updates will be posted at www.whatcomcounty.us/ferry.
