Food Waste Composting Workshop

Saturday, November 4th @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

Do you want to be part of the solution when it comes to keeping food waste out of our landfills? Have you thought of making your own nutrient-rich compost, but are daunted by fears of pests, bad smells, and the muck-factor if you try? Come to the Heritage Trust’s Food Composting Workshop on November 4th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the Resource Center at the Otto Preserve to learn different techniques and pick the one that is the best for you! Nancy Neil will share her 15 years of worm-composting expertise and show how to produce clean-smelling, wonderful crumbly compost. By the end of it you’ll be able to think like a worm, she’s that good! Other techniques will be demonstrated and discussed. The workshop is free, but please sign up in advance online via Eventbrite using this link  (You do not need to have an Eventbrite account to use the link). If you aren’t comfortable signing up online, you can always email outreach@liht.org or by call the Heritage Trust office at 360-758-7997.
